Moore Thompson Chartered Accountants are in the swing of things with a charity golf day

East of England accountants Moore Thompson has managed to raise almost £400 at their Annual Client Golf Day.

Held at Spalding Golf Club in Surfleet, the event saw more than 40 people attend the fundraising event, which pitted some of the region’s top business owners and professionals against one another.

During the day the firm held a charity raffle to raise funds for Cruse Bereavement Care, a cause close to the heart of Kirsty Holmes, a Paraplanner from MT Financial Management who used their services after her father passed away.

Cruse Bereavement Care is the leading national charity for bereaved people in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and provides support to people who have lost loved ones via therapy.

With a stunning Titleist golf set on offer, many of the players bought tickets for the raffle, helping Kirsty and Moore Thompson to raise £375 for the good cause. The winner of the set of clubs was Jackie Bailey-Scott, Managing Director of Abbey Print.

Speaking about the day of fun and fundraising, Kirsty said: “The golf day was a fantastic event and we were delighted that so many people turned up to play and also donate money to this wonderful organisation.

“With such a fantastic prize on offer we had a lot of interest in the raffle, which is why we managed to raise so much.”

Kirsty has big plans to raise even more money for Cruse by taking part in a three-week trek, starting on 31October 2020, to Everest Base Camp.

The trip will involve up to nine hours of trekking each day and the temperatures will fall as low as -10c and she will climb to an altitude of 5,000 metres.

The Moore Thompson Charities Team will be supporting Kirsty and is coming up with a number of events to help her chosen charity.

Mark Hildred, Managing Partner at Moore Thompson, said: “I would like to say a big thank you to all those who joined us for our annual golf event and congratulations to the winners of the golf competition and raffle. We really appreciate everyone’s support.”
