Moore Thompson Accountant steps into the ring to raise money for Cancer Research UK

Moore Thompson accountant Ainsley Johnson will be swapping his smart suit and shoes for a pair of gloves as he takes part in an Ultra White Collar Boxing event in support of Cancer Research UK.

Due to take place at the East of England Showground in Peterborough on 27 November 2021, the event will pit local professionals and business leaders against one another in the ring, as they raise money for charity.

Ainsley is a manager at the accountancy firm and joined the practice more than 15 years ago straight from Spalding Grammar School.

Speaking about his upcoming fight, Ainsley said: “I am always up for a challenge and I can’t wait to see how I measure up later this year.

“Not only will I be pushing myself to be the best I can be physically, but I will also be trying to raise as much money as possible for the amazing charity Cancer Research UK – an organisation that does such incredible work for families and patients.”

The firm has a close affinity to boxing, having been a long-time supporter of professional fighter Callum ‘The One’ Johnson throughout his career.

They are hopeful that his namesake, Ainsley, can also beat the competition and raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Mark Hildred, Managing Partner at Moore Thompson, said: “We are all very proud of Ainsley for deciding to do this and everyone at the firm is behind him. We hope that other local businesses and communities will show him support as he gets ready to take on his opponents.”
