REPORTING TO: Skills Lead – The Skills Service

SALARY: £24,500 – £27,000 Pro-rata

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an energetic, proactive, and reliable individual to support the team with the delivery of school events across Lincolnshire and Peterborough and the school work experience programme predominately across Greater Peterborough. The role will involve working with businesses, students and schools to deliver an outstanding service for key events and establishing positive relationships to support both events and work experience opportunities.

LOCATION

Work will be based in Peterborough and Lincolnshire with travel required to schools or employer sites.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop relationships with organisations and businesses that create opportunities for business/organisations to engage in work experience, and volunteer services that support projects led or brokered by The Skills Service.
  • Develop relationships with allocated school career leads and teachers to support the delivery of The Skills Service services.
  • To use local knowledge of both employers and schools to actively manage the allocation of employer placements to schools and colleges in line with the Service Level Agreements and agreed deadlines.
  • Prepare resources as required for events
  • Attend events in schools and other venues across the geographical area to support effective and successful deliver of activities as required
  • Assist in the organisation of events including, careers and information fairs, business exhibitions and networking events
  • To visit companies to undertake health and safety assessments within legislative frameworks and to make an informed judgement as to the suitability of placements offered for pre-16, post-16 and other specific client groups
  • Adhere to the branding guidelines and social media policy
  • Ensure systems comply with Data Protection legislation (GDPR) requirements, raise any concerns with Line Manager in relation to risk and non-compliance

 

PERSON PROFILE

  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously
  • IOSH managing safely
  • Shows initiative and enthusiasm towards projects
  • Ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines
  • Good attention to detail
  • Must have own transport
  • Willing to work in schools and other settings with young people and be willing to undertake a DBS check
  • Flexibility in working hours
  • IT and administrative skills
  • Events organisation experience
