Funding success helps supports adult learners

Cross Keys Homes (CKH) has been successful in securing just under £18,000 of funding through City College Peterborough’s Community Learning Trust fund.

This is the third year CKH has been awarded the funding and it will allow the housing association to use its expertise and community hubs to bring even more training aimed at meeting the needs of local people, right to the heart of the community.

The courses are focused on providing a pathway into work, to support people to get the skills they need, no matter how long they have been out of work. There will also be support for parents, health and wellbeing support and money advice available.

With courses starting from this October and running through to July 2020, CKH is hoping to help support over 72 new learners thanks to this funding.

Kate Newbolt, Service Manager – Customer, Community and Stakeholder Engagement at CKH, said: “This funding is such great news for us and for local people. Thanks to City College Peterborough we will be able to roll out even more support than ever before.

“Supporting people into work is one of the key strands of our Community Investment strategy, and this funding will enable us to do even more for local jobseekers, by tailoring the support they receive to their individual needs.

“Working in partnership enables us to deliver so much more, by pooling expertise and resources for the greater good. Our longstanding partnership with City College Peterborough has already delivered so much and we are so pleased to able to do even more this year.”

Sharon Preston-High, from City College Peterborough (CCP) said: “CCP is extremely pleased to be working in partnership with CKH again this year. It is great to see such an interesting project aimed at supporting residents to produce some great personal outcomes.  We are really looking forward to continuing our close partnership with the team at CKH.”
