Why join a mindfulness course?

“You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf” Jon Kabat Zinn

We all face challenges and pressures in the course of our daily lives and work.  Sometimes these can feel overwhelming: we never seem to have enough time, and our internal “chatterbox” gives us a hard time.  We’d welcome more calmness, space and focus in our lives.

Learning mindfulness practices and principles does not make the challenges go away, but it can help us to step off the treadmill, out of the daily flow of demands and priorities, create a sense of space, and a fresh perspective.  Mindfulness can help us to “surf” the ups and downs of life, expanding our skills to cope with stress and pressure, and helping us to rediscover daily moments of pleasure and enjoyment.

About the course:

Mindfulness is generally taught in ‘8-week courses’, of which this is one.  The course is practical, secular (no religion involved), and proven – it’s the type of course which has been well-researched, and is recommended by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) and offered by the NHS to help people with anxiety and depression.

We create a welcoming environment and teach a range of core mindfulness practices so that you can experiment and find out what works best for you.  We enable you to plan how to incorporate mindfulness into your life.

Included in the courses is a full set of supporting materials for your reference, and recordings of the key mindfulness practices for you to use at home.

Who is the course for?

This course is open to anyone who would like to learn to handle the pressures and stresses of everyday life, and would like to learn how to develop more focus, awareness and clarity.  If you would like to discuss whether the course would suit you, please contact us.
