Combined Authority grant funding success for Medesham Homes

Medesham Homes, an equal Joint Venture between partners Cross Keys Homes and Peterborough City Council, has been successful in its bid for grant funding from Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority to help build desperately needed affordable homes in Peterborough.

As part of the Combined Authority’s commitment to seek to accelerate the delivery of affordable housing, Medesham Homes has been successful in its bid for £735,000 for their Belle Vue development in Stanground which will see 30 new homes completed this year.

Claire Higgins, Chief Executive of Cross Keys Homes and a Board Member of Medesham Homes, said: “Building new affordable homes for the city is a priority of ours, so to receive this funding which will help to accelerate and sustain even more new homes for affordable rent and meeting local need, is fantastic news.”

Medesham Homes’ Board Member, Howard Bright, added: “We are determined to make a positive difference by building as many new affordable homes as we can. This is really exciting news as it enables us to continue our strong partnership working.”

Cllr Graham Bull, chair of the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority’s Housing Committee, said: “This is another step forward towards us meeting the Combined Authority’s target to deliver 2,000 additional affordable homes by 2022.

“This scheme can be delivered quickly and will help meet an identified and pressing need for homes for affordable rent in Peterborough. It is important that we can seize such opportunities to accelerate the delivery of affordable homes as they arise.”

Medesham Homes is committed to making a long-term positive difference in Peterborough providing a variety of tenures to suit individual needs. The Joint Venture already has multiple sites in its development pipeline and is always looking for future development opportunities where more new affordable homes can be built to help support, grow and transform local communities.
