CKH demonstrates commitment to building more homes

Cross Keys Homes (CKH) has once again proved its might in the social housing world by appearing in the prestigious Inside Housing Top 50 Biggest Builders ranking for the third year running.

Featuring at number 38, CKH has moved up the ranking since it first appeared in 2017 at number 44, demonstrating the effect its ambitious development programme is having in delivering more affordable homes than ever, and moving into new regions.

CKH is also proud to have appeared in the top ten for completions as proportion of stock, illustrating the strength of CKH’s development power for its size.

The housing association’s future as a committed builder of affordable housing is also assured as CKH comes in at number 32 for homes in the pipeline, up from 36 in 2018, with 850 homes to be completed before March 2022.

CKH completed 376 homes in 2018/19, of which 213 were for affordable rent and 163 were for shared ownership. Not only were these located in CKH’s home city of Peterborough, but right across the east of England and home counties, where house prices are prohibitively expensive for many and affordable housing in desperately short supply.

Chief Executive, Claire Higgins, said: “Building homes for the future is a key objective for Cross Keys Homes and so to feature so strongly in this prestigious ranking is a great indication that we are getting it right. It is especially reassuring to be in the top ten for completions as proportion to stock, reflecting our relative strength for our size, as well as our determination to do everything we can to build the houses that I know people are so desperate for.”
