Cross Keys Homes is teaming up with Boxing Futures to offer non-contact boxing classes for all.

Starting on 24 January, a men only session will be commencing for 13 weeks at the South Bretton Family and Community Centre. These sessions will also include mental health support, and will run each Thursday between 1pm and 2pm. These are funded as part of City College Peterborough’s Community Learning Trust.

Meanwhile, an all adult session will be running at the Charteris Centre in Dogsthorpe starting on 4 February, and running every Tuesday between 5.30 and 6.30pm for twelve weeks.

These sessions complement the existing sessions run for young people up to 13 years old, at the WestRaven Community Café in Westwood, every Thursday between 4 and 5pm.

Kate Newbolt, Service Manager – Customer, Community and Stakeholder Engagement at CKH said, “One of the key strands of our Community Investment strategy here at CKH is around improving health and wellbeing – both mental and physical. These boxing sessions will not only help people to get in shape in a safe environment, but they will also help with mental health and building support networks. They are available to total beginners and the sessions are completely non-judgemental – no one is expecting you to be super-fit and Lycra-clad! Just come along and join us to meet new people and have fun.”
