What is Best Friends Veterinary Group and who are your customers?
Starting out with our first practice on Broadway, Peterborough in 1991, Best Friends Veterinary Group has flourished over the last two decades and now comprises of 32 veterinary practices, employing over 150 members of staff across eight counties. With operations across the UK we still remain strongly committed to providing excellent veterinary advice to pet owners and care to their pets.
What’s the biggest challenge you face in today’s economy?
Unfortunately, within the current climate, one of the first things to be cut in some households is the cost of preventative care for pets, such as vaccinations, pet insurance and worming treatments. In response to this, we’ve set up our preventative care scheme, Healthy Paws Plan, whereby owners can pay a monthly fee that covers all their preventative care treatment for the year, as well as giving a loyalty discount on all other services.
What’s your greatest achievement?
Best Friends Veterinary Group is celebrating its 20th anniversary this month. We’re proud to have been caring for the pets of Peterborough for 20 years! In addition to this, Which? Magazine found our pet insurance to be one of the best available.
What makes being in Peterborough so good?
Basing our head office in Peterborough aided expansion into areas such as Lincolnshire, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Essex and London, due to its excellent connectivity. Travel routes in and out of the city enable us to have the frequent contact with suppliers, contractors, partners and charities that we work with, allowing us to create and build all important business relationships.
