Peterborough is fantastically linked within itself and to the wider world. In just 50 minutes you can find yourself in London King’s Cross thanks to our fast and direct East Coast Mainline service.

And it’s not just London that lies within easy reach of Peterborough, travelling to Europe can be pain free too, with direct train services to Stansted Airport and easy access to the A1.

The city’s parkway system allows travel from one side of the urban area to the other in just 15 minutes, but if you prefer more sustainable transport, an integrated bus system is supported by an intricate 50 mile network of cycle lanes (the Peterborough Green Wheel), which links the city with our beautiful countryside.

In line with our environmental aspirations, Peterborough’s sustainable transport team Travelchoice is always looking to provide new and innovative alternatives to the car and runs regular campaigns to encourage residents to opt for a greener way of life. Peterborough Environment City Trust is working with its partners to protect and improve the city’s green infrastructure to promote the potential of Peterborough as a growth area and to further enhance the quality of life for citizens.
