Apethorpe Hall is one of England’s grreat country houses, playing host to Queen Elizabeth 1, Kings James 1 and King Charles 1. After years of neglect and decary the Jacobean mansion fell into total disrepair until 2004 when English Heritage stepped in and undertook a massive programme of repair with a view to its eventual sale. We will have a tour by one of English Heritage’s knowledgeable guides.
