Marco Cereste is a member of the board of the East of England Development Agency (EEDA) and of its Strategy Committee. He is also the chief executive of a group of family businesses and the chair of the Peterborough Primary Care NHS Trust. In addition, he holds a number of non executive directorships, including Standard Life healthcare.

He has been chair of the NHS Trust Federation since 1995 and is a former member of the NHS Executive International Audit Development Group and the NHS Corporate Governance Advisory Panel. Marco is also a member of the Cambridgeshire Learning and Skills Council and is health chair of the Greater Cambridgeshire Partnership.
