Angus Kennedy

Although born and bred in the village of Helpston just outside Peterborough, regeneration expert (and life-long Posh fan) Angus Kennedy has never worked in this area.

That is why he jumped at the chance of applying his professional skills to his home city as a member of our board.

He says: “I want to be able to put something back into the city where I grew up and have such strong family connections.”

Angus is currently chief executive of Community Regeneration Partnership, a Birmingham-based specialist regeneration consultancy for public and voluntary sector organisations in the UK and Europe.

He was previously chief executive of Castle Vale Housing Action Trust in Birmingham and has been a board member of RegenWM and chairman of Urban Living.

He has vast experience across a wide range of renewal activity and has had key roles in developing national best practice in dealing with anti-social behaviour and criminal activity and in promoting sports and leisure activities as catalysts for regeneration.

Angus says: “I hope my experience of working within government agencies and both with and within various types of partnership will be of use to Opportunity Peterborough. Our success – and Peterborough’s success – will very much depend upon creating a shared vision and real partnership working with a wide range of organisations and individuals.”
